This is part of a series with the Region of Peel, and included some basics about the tradition, things people don't know, misconceptions, and practical tips and advice.

We visited three houses of worship in the GTA with master's and PhD students from the University of Toronto's Centre for the Study of Religion. Brian got his PhD from this centre and looks forward to the opportunity to pay it back as we learn about religious communities in practice.


The World’s Religions - The LIFE Institute
During this online course at Toronto Metropolitan University, we surveyed the world’s major religions to gain a better understanding of their history and ritual. We explored the deep intersection of religion and culture and politics as we see how faith impacts both private lives and national and international politics.

We explored the history and unfolding of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, trying to better understand the differing perspectives on this issue and how it is experienced by different sides. We also looked at issues that specifically confront police related to this topic.

Brian was a guest speaker at the University of Toronto's business school, addressing a class titled "Managing People in the Context of Globalization." He spoke about religious literacy in work environments and how it contributes to a stronger, more productive workplace.
